Events Offered:
Come check out Gary Lautt, many time World Footbag Champion and Guinnes
World record holder attempt to break the Consecutive record of 63,326 kicks
(currently held by Ted Martin).  This will be held at The Crux Rock Gym,
401 W.3rd on Friday September 19th beginning at 7am.

The event will also include freestyle demonstrations, open freestyle
circles, and novice doubles net (FREE) both Saturday and Sunday at 1pm at
Alton Baker Park.  Freestyle demonstrations by Tim Kelly, Tricia George,
Becca English-Ross, and other Free F.L.O.E. members will take place at 8th
and Willamette 6pm both Friday and Saturday.

Entry fees are $25-30 for intermediate/open players and will include:
event shorts, a cool prize, an adidas Footbag, opportunity to win
a snakeboard or a Jimmy-C net set, lots of microbrewed beer
(for those of age), food (bagels, muffins, bananas, tofu pate, breadsticks,
frozen yogurt, bean dips, etc), free admission to all Eugene Celebration
activities, and other goodies.

Entry is free to novice players.

               1997 Eugene Celebration Footbag Tournament summary...

We had beautiful weather all weekend, clear, blue skies and 80 degrees.
Forty-eight competitors (28 intermediate/open players and 20 novice)
entered.  Freestyle demonstrations were held Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in
the downtown crowds.  Tim Kelly, Becca English-Ross, and Free F.L.O.E.
members Iain McKechnie, Forest Schrodt, Will Webb, and Ben Kersens performed.

Gary Lautt's consecutive record attempt ended early Friday during the
changing of a headband.  Gary kicked 8,352 kicks and enjoyed the rest of the
day at The Eugene Celebration.  The Crux Rock Gym was most supportive and
accomodating.  

Gary and Tricia George are planning an attempt to break their own Doubles
Consecutive record of 123,456 kicks this November in Chico, Ca. 

Everyone ate and drank well thanks to food/beverages donated by Full Sail,
Great Harvest Bread Co., Wild Duck Brewery, Yo Cream, Bagel Sphere, Tofu
Palace, Emerald Valley Kitchen, the Bagel Bakery, and Ritta's Burritos.
Everyone won great prizes donated by Flying Clipper Alternative Sports,
adidas, Sipa Sipa, Snakeboard, DirtBag, World Cup Soccer Shop, Feet's Plus
Two, Proyo II, Oasis Fine Foods, Anderson's Sporting Goods, and Face the
Music.  Kinko's helped us print the program.

The Eugene Celebration is a city-wide event with activities all over town, several stages downtown, and daily attendance of 50,000-60,000 people. We host activities for the public on Friday downtown such as freestyle demonstrations, consecutive contests (free with prizes), and World Record attempts. The net play will take place in nearby Alton Baker Park along the Willamette River and bike path, 1/2 mile from downtown.

Freestyle demonstrations and jamming will be held boht Saturday and Sunday downtown. We are going to try to get showcase space in a crowded stage area this year.

Event Details:
If you want floor space please make arrangements in advance.  

The city buses are free all weekend and will get you anywhere in town.
Eugene is also friendly to bicycles, in-line skates, and skateboards.

The weather is generally hot and beautiful this time of year, though we
carry our rain gear to appease the rain gods.

These motels/hotels are all within walking distance to downtown, nearby
restaurants and stores and less than a mile from both the tournament site
and Free F.L.O.E headquarters.
