Event Details:
This is an opportunity to demonstrate the sport of footbag to the crowds
at the Museum of Science and Industry on the south lakeshore. A
guaranteed audience will be on-hand, as we are to be located in the
main rotunda in the very middle on a carpet taped to the marble floor.
We will also have a shredding area off to the side, nearby and in view of
spectators.
We will also be promoting footbag.org heavily. :-)
The way I envision the event taking place (imagine 15-20 minute demo's
starting on the half-hour):
10:00 - Set-up and Registration
11:00 - General Footbag Demo
11:30 - Footbag Freestyle, featuring 1999 World Freestyle Champion,
Scott Davidson
12:00 - Footbag Consecutives, featuring Guinness World Record
Holder, Ted Martin
12:30 - Footbag Net demo
1:00 - Footbag Freestyle Competition, featuring top players from
around the midwest.
2:00 - Clean up
Footbag Freestyle Competition runs from 1:00 to 2:30ish
One round
Ranked component judging
Pro's $20 Entry Fee
Advanced: $10 (limited number of entrants due to time)
Intermediates, beginners and aspiring kickers are invited to shred and
kick in the area devoted to warm-up, and in between demo's before the
competition, however there will be no competition for them due to time
constraints. We are looking to the players to interact with the audience
and encourage them to kick and experience the wonderment of our
favorite pastime, footbag.
The museum should have info about this event and others like it taking
place almost every weekend this summer, as well as directions and
other information about their facilities on their website soon.

BTW, a paid position of responsibility is available in ensuring a
professional event. We will provide complete guidelines to follow, and
will also look to your input for determining specific logistics of making it
happen. 95%of the work needed to complete this event will take place
the day before and the day of the event, so the ideal candidate should
realize that they won't be able to compete in this event.
At this time, we are still inquiring about getting passes into the museum
for our pre-registered participants.
