COLLECTED PHOTOS FROM THE
Menlo Park, San Francisco, California
July 31-August 6, 1996
Introduction
From this page, you can see photographs from the 1995 World Footbag
Championships in California,
taken by sports photographer extraordinaire John
Caveney, thanks to the (expensive) miracle of PhotoCD technology.
Below are the various categories of photos we have, and more are coming every
few days -- we hope to be done by the end of January, '96.
You'll hopefully be able to find pictures of famous
footbag athletes, members of the discussion
list, and see what professional footbag is all about.
To find out when new photos become available after you see this page, you can just
look at the What's New on Footbag WorldWide
page, or save a bookmark to this page and check back!
Information on Viewing These Photos
The photos are all bunched together on separate index pages listed
below, with several very small "thumbnails" of each photo put together into catalogs
that you can click on to see particular images at full size. The full-sized
pictures are in "JPEG" format. (JPEG is a standard color graphics format
that is used worldwide for exchanging images on computers.)
While these
photographs have been stored as 72 dpi (dots-per-inch) images, the
color depth is 32 bits. This means that, if you are on a computer
or monitor that supports "millions of colors", or 32-bit color (or better),
these images will be displayed very well. In 16-bit color they are still
quite nice. If you are using an 8-bit color
display, you will likely see some graininess to the images. In any
case, these photos
are not of the quality you would need to print on a color printer;
they are designed for optimal viewing on the screen.

Photo Index
Because a lot of our users are on slow dial-up links, and because we have
a lot of pictures, we have chosen to divide the pictures up into "catalogs",
which are combinations of thumbnails you download first and then use to
pick the photo(s) you want to see at full size. In addition, since text
is generally small, we've put the full text of all the captions
from the photos on this page and within each catalog page. This way, you can select
photos based on their captions (and use your web browser to search for text
describing a type of photo you might want to see).
The full-sized image of any photo you display will be accompanied by
the caption and other information.
The following is our index to the world of photos from this event:
