Phoenix to Berkeley, it's roughly 800 miles, 14 hours by car, 2 hours by plane, after you get through security! But distance hasn't stood in the way of this partnership. Amy Westberg has made the journey dozens of times, since she teamed up with Lisa McDaniel in 2000. These two knew that their differing talents would bind like velcro to make a winning combination in Women's Doubles Net. Amy would bring the heat with her arsenal of spikes: Lisa would make it look easy with perfect sets and strong defense that comes from years of experience. After placing 2nd in Worlds 2000 this duo showed up at 2001 Worlds loaded and ready, handily squelching a five year winning streak of The Establishment in a two game final. Both women hold Mixed Doubles Net world titles from recent years, and are contenders in 2002. Lisa McDaniel goes into the Women's Singles as second seed, with a good shot at coming out in 1st. But both women look to the women's doubles as their shot at starting a little establishment of their own.
