!! Major Changes at Footbag.org
Though you may not be able to tell, we've worked tirelessly for the last year making changes to the way footbag.org works. Our goal was to make these changes as transparent as possible, and to enable other new features and functionality in the future. Well, we're done with the major rework, and you should find footbag.org much faster and more stable. Though there are some things still unfinished, we have decided to turn off the old systems and fire up the new. If you see anything that looks like a "bug" please e-mail the webmaster.
!! IFPA Annual Election Results
IFPA members were invited to vote online for elected positions on the IFPA Board for 2003. This year, two seats were up for election: Education Director and Rules Director. Voting completed on December 20th, and with 35% of the membership voting, Scott Davidson (unchallenged) was given a vote of confidence as Education Director, and Vince Bradley (also unchallenged) was elected as Rules Director. Both are one-year positions.

!! News is Back!
For the last six months, as we've been actively improving footbag.org, you may have noticed that the "What's New" section (this page) has not been very active. Those days are soon to end, as we are starting to turn back on some of the automatic updates to this page, as well as fixing some of our tools to make it possible for multiple editors to contribute content to the service. Note that this page is still being reworked, so you'll notice some things are slow. Those will definitely be fixed soon, so bear with us. Enjoy the improvements to footbag.org, which will start rolling out very soon. These latest changes have been 5 years in the making.

!! New Features
Well, there are finally some new features on footbag.org. Among other things, the members home page now shows IFPA committee memberships (if any) as well as offers members without a current club listing to easily find other clubs in their area or create their own. Similarly, the member profile section now shows members' IFPA committee positions if applicable. Also, the IFPA section is beginning to get more functional -- expect more useful features soon for IFPA members.
!! 10,000 Members and Counting
Footbag.org has recently reached a milestone -- we have over 10,000 registered members in well over 100 different countries around the world! The IFPA now has official registered members in 17 countries as well.

!! New Version of Member Home Page
For those of you who have been frustrated by problems with the members section of footbag.org, I've finally gotten around to rewriting much of the members section. Consider the current version as a beta, and please e-mail me if you see serious problems. You'll notice you can now view and/or edit any clubs and/or events you may have from one spot on that page. There are still some problems, so bear with me. But it's a lot better than it has been for the last few months.

!! Footbag.org update...
I am actively in the process of rewriting footbag.org into a web scripting language called "php". This will make the system run faster, but will also allow more great features to improve the quality of the service going forward. (The club list is already running on the new software.) No big new features yet, but examples of new features coming soon: IFPA members area, free limited web hosting for sanctioned clubs, improved user-contributed photo and video galleries, and much more.
