  • When did you see your first Footbag?
    • I believe it was 1981. We would kick footbag in the lobby of the movie theater we worked in between shows. I met Lee Guenther while kicking out in a park. He walked up, did 3 clippers in a row – I was blown away and have been hooked since.
  • Your own personal comments and notes?
    • Was fortunate enough to be involved with a great group of people in Memphis Footworks, and to have great double partners (particularly Gator).
  • Major achievements?
    • 1986 Advanced Worlds Doubles Net Title with Andrew Williams
    • 1988 Worlds Doubles Net Runner-up with Chris Routh and 1990
    • 1988 US Open Doubles Net Champion with Chris Routh, also 1989 & 1990
    • 1989 Worlds Doubles Net Champion with Chris Routh
    • 1989 Worlds Mixed Doubles Net Runner-up with Janice Earl
  • The sports future(2007)?
    • Net is just a great sport. As I have played a little more actively over the past year or so, I have had the privilege to play with some great new talent (note: anybody playing past 1991 is new ;>) – with players like that I believe the sports future is bright.

  • When did you see your first Footbag?
    • I saw my first hack at Willows Beach in Victoria in 1981. Tim Macdonald and Robert(?) were disc freestyle competitors who also kicked. It was a three panel ‘Royal Kicker’. I was hooked, five years later I managed to track down the maker of the Royal Kicker in Vancouver. I pestered Jim Anderson for months until he finally taught me how to make one. It didn’t take long to start making a little cash at it.
  • Your own personal comments and notes?
    • Eventually I moved over to Vancouver and found out where the guys were playing Hack over the net. I became totally addicted to Footbag Net, moved into the same neighborhood, dropped everything else I ever did, and only played Footbag for the next 20 years. My first Worlds were in ’88 in Colorado. I did up to 16 tournaments a year for about 16 years.
    • I could go on and on about all the great people I’ve met that can now call friends all because of the Fantastic Sport of Footbag. People like the Welch’s, McDaniel’s, Conover’s, George’s, Monte’s, Simon’s, Lewis’s, Bouchard’s, Shultz’s, who put me up over the years, picked me up at the airport, fed me, beered me, etc. There’s also many not listed here, but I thank you all!   • Major achievements?
    • I purchased the Kanga design from Dave Robinson in the early 90’s, and designed a bunch of other Footbags that we still make and sell today. We lease the Twisted, and own the Habit, FourPlay, Kanga, and our newest design is the Mojo 152 panel freestyle footbag.
    • The CFA is celebrating it’s 10th year anniversary this year, and we have also helped out with Footbag promotions in Australia, Ireland, and the Czech Republic. We’ve sponsored many tournaments and are able to sponsor some athletes this year as well.
    • I’ve also done over 1400 school assemblies for the WFA and the Canadian Footbag Alliance. I’ve kicked and/or performed in Australia, Mexico, Portugal, France, Spain, Malaysia, Canada, and 46 States in the US.
    • At worlds I’ve had a couple second and third place finishes in mixed doubles net, doubles net, and team Freestyle, and a title at distance one pass.
    • Founding member of the Kits Kickers who will this year be having the 21st annual Vancouver Open.
  • The sports future?
    • I was lucky enough to be able to attend the 2007 World Championships once again. From watching the sports evolution of Freestyle and net it’s inevitable that footbag will eventually become a spectator sport, then an official sport of the Olympics. It’s just a matter of time.
